AlhauríN De La Torre Strengthens its Security with Technological Innovation from Dahua Iberia and NPS Security.

In its commitment to be a benchmark in security and sustainability, the Alhaurín de la Torre City Council has taken a step forward by implementing an advanced video surveillance and traffic management system. This project has been developed in collaboration with Dahua Iberia and NPS Security, and is part of an ambitious plan that seeks to improve road safety and deter criminal acts in the municipality.

NPS Security and Dahua - Alhaurín de la Torre Success Case

The traffic control center, inaugurated in 2017, has seen significant expansion, going from a few cameras to more than 50 units strategically distributed at points with the highest flow of vehicles and pedestrians. The cameras not only monitor traffic in real-time but also contribute to the clarification of crimes related to public safety, thanks to their license plate recognition capability and other advanced technologies. Recently, new cameras have been added in areas such as Zapata and Retamar, along with the installation of solar panels, promoting the use of renewable energy for more efficient management.

Mayor Joaquín Villanova has highlighted that the camera network now covers more than 80% of the main avenues and access points to residential areas, allowing the Local Police to detect incidents more quickly and accurately. This video surveillance system not only improves road safety but also acts as a powerful deterrent against vandalism and other antisocial behaviors.

This collaboration between the public and private sectors reinforces the commitment of the municipality of Alhaurín de la Torre to sustainable growth and technological innovation, aligning with the principles of a modern Smart City.
